Unofficial Claude AI Wrapper – Modern Desktop Client for Linux

ScreenshotScreenshotScreenshotScreenshot

A fast desktop app for Claude AI - no browser needed.
Use Claude directly from your desktop, distraction-free and always at hand.

What's new in v1.4.0:

  • OLED theme as a third theme - The sun/moon icon in the tab bar now cycles Light, Dark, OLED. OLED renders claude.ai on a warm near-black background with a subtle brand-glow overlay. The mode is preselected on the first launch of 1.4.0; switch back via the same icon, the choice is then persisted.
  • Frameless main window with custom controls - The system title bar is replaced by the tab bar itself; Minimize, Maximize and Close sit on the right. The free area of the tab bar is a drag region, double-click toggles maximize.
  • All dialogs are frameless too - What's New, About, Settings and Bug Report use the same compact custom title bar with a close button.
  • Composer gradient - The chat input on claude.ai gets a thin animated brand gradient border, matching the Quick-Prompt style.
  • What's New redesigned - New layout with a brand gradient hero and a 2-column tile grid for highlights.
  • Stability hardening - Window-control IPC checks the sender; the OLED preset is persisted immediately, so a crash early in the first session does not re-trigger the intro; sidebar items in claude.ai are flat with a discreet hover state.

Earlier highlights (v1.3.11 - v1.3.13):

  • Verification banner (v1.3.13) - If the Cloudflare check gets stuck in a loop, an in-page banner appears with a Reset button that clears claude.ai cookies and cache and reloads the page.
  • Higgsfield connector fix (v1.3.12) - The OAuth popup for the Higgsfield MCP connector now opens inside the app, so the callback reaches claude.ai instead of the system browser.
  • Cloudflare verification loop fix (v1.3.11) - Sec-Ch-Ua client hints are sent consistently for all claude.ai sandbox origins and Anthropic endpoints; challenges.cloudflare.com is whitelisted.

Core features:

  • Tab system with its own tab bar (Ctrl+T, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+Tab); main window is frameless with Minimize/Maximize/Close in the tab bar itself
  • Light, Dark and OLED themes plus two design variants (Modern, Classic)
  • System Tray with optional minimize-to-tray
  • Global Quick-Prompt Hotkey - frameless prompt window drops your text straight into a new chat from any app
  • Voice Input - record voice messages directly in claude.ai
  • OAuth logins in-app - Google, GitHub, Drive, GitLab, Bitbucket, Microsoft, Higgsfield
  • MCP connectors - Visualize and other MCP apps load correctly in claude.ai
  • Markdown export of conversations (Ctrl+Shift+E)
  • Prompt templates for the Quick-Prompt window
  • Background reply notifications when Claude finishes answering
  • Clipboard & screenshot hotkeys to start a chat from selection
  • In-app Bug Report form in DE/EN/FR/ES/IT, themed to match the app
  • Auto-update synced with the GitHub Release
  • Window memory, crash recovery, offline page, download manager, autostart, sandbox enabled

Snap permissions:

For Voice Input the audio-record interface must be connected once:

 sudo snap connect claude-ai-desktop:audio-record

The in-app wizard guides you through this on first microphone use.
