Privacy-first desktop activity tracking
DayTrace records how you spend time on your computer, without timers. All
data stays on your computer, with no account, cloud service or telemetry.
Strict confinement limits what a tracker can see. On GNOME and most Wayland
desktops this package cannot name the focused application, and Settings shows
exactly what works. Manual timers and all reports still work. For full
tracking, use the .deb, .rpm or AppImage packages from GitHub Releases.
To let DayTrace notice idle time and screen locks, run:
sudo snap connect daytrace:login-session-observe
