ShareAndCollaborate.com Host
This application is a self-hosted network software social & organisation space, with file-sharing, email, calendaring, collaboration, and more. Use it online at https://shareandcollaborate.com or install and host it yourself.
The Friday, July 17, 2026 version 0.7.8 has been released.
- The cluster is standing up and recovering nicely in an automated fashion, even when the configuration.json file is deleted. This means the application scales to handle the load in an impressive way. Now that we have Timer Services working well, we can expand into the other services. Moving the website serving around on the cluster is coming up, a bit before that gets worked out, because it is more complicated. Maybe not the next priority, because there is a lot to do. Stay tuned. Happy Friday, and God Bless!

- I have decided to delay the next release until next week sometime, definitely by Friday.
- Focusing on the cluster. Being able to delete the configuration.json, and having it automatically rebuilt using bonjour etc., for all clusters and cluster members and cluster masters on the local network.
- This means we finally get the clusters standing themselves up and recovering nicely in an automated fashion. This means the application scales to handle the load in an impressive way. Exciting times. Happy Friday! - Todd
Released version 0.7.7 on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. This is an unscheduled release.
- Fresh installs should work better now, the previously mentioned issues should be largely solved as far as getting it up and running successfully. More work to do yet, for all of the finer details.
- A reboot may be required for the upgrade. We will get that sorted out in the near future.
Noted on July 7, 2026.
- I have noticed upon a fresh install, the configuration.json file is no longer initialising correctly. Expect that to be fixed for the Friday release. New users will appreciate this, because it blocks a smooth launch and prevents things from spinning up immediately.
- After all of the work on the clustering conversation in the last weeks, I have learned a lot. An architecture has emerged, that is simple, efficient, and easily understandable. I am supposing an AI could be plugged in at that point, to choose and direct which computers do stuff, considering available resources and network capacity, regionality, etc., and give us ~100% uptime, with efficient use of the resources, speed, etc. Just the thing we want for a networked application. Looking forward to getting back to the application! That's where things are really going to shine. So much to do... Trying to do it in a well communicated fashion. I can be reached at todd@shareandcollaborate.com.
Delaying the July 3 release until Friday, July 10, 2026.
- An improved and simplified approach to the clustering conversation is underway. Looking forward to the next release.
Released version 0.7.6. on Friday, June 26, 2026.
- Improvements to the clustering algorithm.
- Improvements to the Administration Console at /admin.html. More to do here...
Comments on the latest release, 0.7.5.
- Rsync is a nice solution, but currently can't get it to work in a snap with strict confinement. This will be ongoing for a bit. [June 20, 2026]
