Host karaoke shows with rotation, requests and multi-screen playback
SongBoss is a karaoke hosting application for KJs (karaoke jockeys). It
manages a rotation of singers, plays karaoke tracks across separate singer,
audience and host screens, and keeps the show moving between songs.
Features:
- Singer rotation with drag-and-drop reordering and per-singer queues
- Separate singer view, crowd/audience view and host control window for
- Library management for karaoke video and MP3+CDG tracks
- Break music playlists that fill the gaps between singers
- Song requests collected from a request server, with an on-screen QR code
- Per-song key change (pitch shift) using FFmpeg
- Play history and session save/restore
- English and Spanish interface translations
Playback is handled by a bundled copy of libVLC, so no separate media player
installation is required.
SongBoss forces the Qt "xcb" platform plugin because libVLC embeds its video
output into a Qt widget via XEmbed; on a Wayland session it therefore runs
through XWayland.
