Presentations in Markdown, delivered offline. No account, no cloud.
A local-first presentation tool. Decks are written in Markdown, laid out by
one solver, and delivered offline — no account, no service, no round trip.
A deck is a folder: a deck.md, a theme.css and an assets/ directory. Plain
text, so it diffs, it merges, and it outlives this application. Move the
folder, hand it to a colleague, put it in git — it is yours in a way a
proprietary blob in a cloud drive is not.
WRITE IT, OR DRAW IT
Author in Markdown and watch it lay out, or work on the canvas and let the
Markdown follow. Both edit the same deck; neither is the "real" one.
OPEN WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
- PowerPoint (.pptx) and OpenDocument (.odp) open and edit in place. Saving
rewrites only what changed — every other part of the file survives
byte-identical, and the original is copied aside on the first save.
- Editing those in place cannot add, remove or reorder slides. The editor
says so when you open the file, not when you try to save.
- Markdown decks written for Marp, Slidev or reveal.js are recognised and
converted into a deck you own. Anything that did not survive is listed on
the way in.
- Your organisation's template comes in as .potx, .pptx, .otp or .odp and
becomes an ordinary theme.css — editable, diffable, no longer tied to the
application it came from.
EXPORT WITHOUT LOSING THE DESIGN
- OpenDocument and PowerPoint, both editable, both readable by Impress,
PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides
- PDF, vector rather than screenshots
- HTML, self-contained, one file or a folder, fonts embedded
- PNG, one per slide, at 1x or 2x
- Animation as GIF or animated PNG, with build steps and transitions
- Marp, reveal.js and Slidev Markdown
Speaker notes are optional on every export that can carry them, and off by
default — notes are written for the speaker, and an exported deck is usually
for somebody else.
PRESENT IT
The projector gets a second window of the same binary, so the audience view
survives an editor crash. You keep a dashboard: the current slide, what is
coming, your notes, a clock and a pace cue worked out from the notes
themselves. Draw on the slide, point with a laser, blank the screen, and hand
the room a copy over the local network — served from your machine, behind a
one-session token, and gone when you close it.
AN ASSISTANT ONLY IF YOU WANT ONE
Off by default, and off is a complete state rather than a degraded one:
everything the app does with a deck it does without a model. Turn it on,
point it at Ollama or LM Studio, and it reads Markdown, text, CSV, PDF, Word,
PowerPoint and OpenDocument — keeping a line range or a page number on
everything, so what it says can be checked against the source. Nothing starts
until it is asked: no port probed, no server started, no model loaded because
a window opened.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It does not have an account. It does not have a server. It does not phone
home. There is no Keynote or Google Slides export — Keynote's format is
undocumented and Google Slides has no local file at all, and writing to it
would mean an account and your deck leaving the machine. Both open a .pptx or
an .odp directly.
MP4 and WebM export are not available in this package. They need ffmpeg, and
a confined snap cannot run a program installed on your system. Every other
export format is here and needs nothing installed.
